Our Demands

We are Boycotting Ocean City, Maryland until the Town of Ocean City contracts to end its use of incineration and commits to restart genuine recycling.

This means no contracting with Covanta, Wheelabrator, or any other waste corporation that delivers any amount of the Town of Ocean City’s waste to any waste incinerator. It also means no contracting with incinerator-like “waste to energy” or “waste to fuel” schemes.

While the active boycott will be paused if the Town of Ocean City commits to restart genuine recycling, we will monitor the situation and the boycott can be actively reinstate if concrete steps to launch a genuine recycling program are not adopted in a timely manner.
